Terms & Conditions

1) BOOKINGS – Bookings can be made by phone, email, contact form or text.  Full payment will be required at the time of booking.  Gift vouchers require full payment before I can post them and are non-refundable or transferable.  One-to-one courses require a £250 non-refundable deposit to secure your selected dates in the diary.  Dates will not be held until payment has been received.

Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a paying adult.

At certain times of the year (Half term holidays, Christmas and Easter especially) demand is particularly high so to avoid disappointment we advise you to give me as much notice of your preferred dates as possible, but it is always worth trying for last minute sessions.  

2) CANCELLATIONS – Cancellations must be made at least two weeks prior to the date arranged.  Our experiences are non-refundable.  Alternative dates can be arranged to suit if adequate notice is given.  In the unfortunate event of cancellation by HAWKINS FALCONRY, we do not accept any responsibility for lost travel or accommodation costs.  HAWKINS FALCONRY reserves the right to alter or cancel the Experience on any given day due to animal welfare or health issues.  I will give you as much notice as possible. 

3) WEATHER – in the event of unworkable weather conditions (i.e: too windy, too wet or too hot) HAWKINS FALCONRY will endeavour to give clients as much notice as possible of cancellation.  In the event of cancellation by HAWKINS FALCONRY due to poor weather conditions, alternative dates will be offered.  HAWKINS FALCONRY reserves the right to terminate a session for an individual or individuals at any time at their absolute discretion.

4) SPECTATORS – HAWKINS FALCONRY specialises in giving personal tuition, guiding, raptor handling and private presentations to clients.  It is not open to the public, and therefore does not have the facilities to cater for spectators.  Our private groups are kept very small, If clients wish to bring a guest to share their experience, this can normally be arranged for an additional fee at time of booking.  Please note that no dogs are allowed on any of our experiences.

5) GIFT VOUCHERS – Are valid for 12 months from date of issue and are non-refundable and non-transferable.  Gift vouchers require full payment before I can post them.  You will be required to bring your vouchers on the day of your experience.  (Do not forget your reference number). Gift vouchers that are out of date can be extended for a further 3 months for an extra £40 per person.  Gift vouchers cannot be exchanged for cash value.  The expiry date will be shown clearly on the Gift voucher.  Gift vouchers for Children are for ages between 10-16yrs.

If you fail to turn up on your booked experience day, this will invalidate your experience/voucher and no refund will be given.

6) HEALTH AND SAFETY – HAWKINS FALCONRY endeavours to ensure the utmost safety of everyone.  HAWKINS FALCONRY requests that clients also take a responsible and safety conscious approach by a) ensuring clothing and footwear advice is adhered to b) listening carefully to safety instructions given c) informing the falconer of any worries or concerns regarding the experience. d) should clients have any concerns regarding physical ability or health please contact HAWKINS FALCONRY and discuss these issues prior to attending the session. e) always wash hands and use our hand sanitising gel following a bird handling session.

Appropriate falconry gloves will be provided and must be worn at all times when handling any of the birds..  Clients should be aware that birds have sharp talons and beaks and will not tolerate inappropriate behaviour. Birds can bite or foot (grab with their feet) which can cause injury if the bird is not handled properly.  Clients must follow the instructions of the falconer at all times and HAWKINS FALCONRY reiterates that it will not be held liable for any injury suffered as a result of failure to follow instructions given by the falconer. 

7) Please be aware that whilst we endeavour to ensure that birds, dogs and ferrets are in top condition for sessions we cannot guarantee the quality of flights or the whereabouts of wild quarry.
