My Half Day Falconry Experiences are ideal for anyone interested in learning a little more about birds
 of prey and want to spend more time in the field with a Hawk and Bonelli's Eagle. Clients will be collected at a designated meeting point by Land Rover and taken to one of our hawking grounds in the Shropshire Hills; depending on the location it may entail a little off road driving. My half day experiences start at 10am and finish at 2pm. Unlike my hawk walks which are relaxed and have a more casual approach you will cover more in-depth training methodology, biology, ecology, history, fitness techniques, development & behaviour and ethics of the falconry tradition. They are designed for people that have a keen interest in falconry and the natural world and give an excellent introduction to being a falconer. You also have the option of making your half day Eagle & Hawk falconry experience a hunting session.

After you receive your brief lesson in handling you will have your own Harris' Hawk & Eagle to fly. You will witness our Harris’ hawk & Eagle soaring, flying free and following us through private woodlands and open fields in the breathtaking Shropshire Hills. You will also witness our birds fitness training with our remote control mechanical lure dragging machine. Finally; feel their power and tenacity as they finish their meal feeding on your glove. The emphasis of the Half Day Experience is very much on clients handling and flying the birds.
 My Half Day Private Experiences are second to none! You can be assured you won't be stood in a falconry centre with 10 other people. This will be your own private session; which gives you more handling and sufficient time to witness our birds behaving naturally in wild surroundings, giving our clients more of an individual and personal experience. Which also makes for a unique and memorable gift.
This is not an arena flying demonstration but rather an adventure through the countryside, appreciating life through the eyes of a bird of prey.
*This can be purchased as a hunting or none hunting session.

Please ensure you wear the appropriate clothing and bring the following:
- Dark coloured clothing
- Flask & snacks
- Hiking or Wellington boots
- Waterproof coat
- Warm layered clothing
- Don't forget your camera!
All equipment is provided and we are covered by public liability insurance.
You should be in reasonable health and have a reasonable level of fitness as some walking is involved.
Itinerary
- 10:00 - Arrive at meeting point and embark on your falconry adventure in our Landrover.
- 10:15 - Lecture on falconry, anatomy, biology & history
- 10:30 - Flying Bonelli's Eagle in hill country, mixed terrain & woodlands
- 12:15 - Flying Harris' Hawk in hill country, mixed terrain & woodlands
- 14:00 - Make our way back to the Landrover
- 14:15 - Arrive back at you car
- You are now free to enjoy the rest of your day in the beautiful Shropshire Hills.
